Math: Learners will compose and decompose a number up to 99.
For example 54 can be decomposed as the following:
- 5 tens and 4 ones
- 4 tens and 14 ones
- 3 tens and 24 ones
- 2 tens and 34 ones
- 54 ones
Fun videos to watch with your child:
Science: This week in science we will be discussing the way things move. Forward, backward, side to side, round and round, and zig-zag.
Language Arts:
Reading: We will learn different strategies to make reading come to life.
Writing: We will start our unit on writing non-fiction chapter books. (virtual learners, you will need the stapled papers that were sent home in the Book in a Bag.
Phonics: Next week we will study the long /u/ sound.
Social Studies: The learner will be able to explain state and national patriotic symbols, including the United States and Texas flags, the Liberty Bell, the Statue of Liberty, and the Alamo through listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Play " Guess My Number"
- What number is equal to 1 ten and 23 ones?
- I am thinking of an even number. It is greater than 17 and less than 19? What number am I thinking?
- I am thinking of a number? It has 2 tens and 3 ones. What number am I thinking?
Practice counting to 120 by ones (forwards and backwards) with your child.
Practice counting to 120 by fives and tens with your child.
Practice reading the snap words. Remember, your child should be able to read all of the snap words in a "snap".
READING - The Raz Kids app is available to all learners (virtual and face to face). If your child has extra time at night this is a great way to increase reading skills! Even 15 minutes will help increase vocabulary, increase fluency, and increase comprehension!
