Look at what we will be learning next week:

Math: This week we will define money earned as income, identify income as a means of obtaining goods and services, distinguish between spending and saving and discuss charitable giving.

Science: This week we will continue to observe the life cycles. We will do a daily check in with our class tadpoles as well as start learning about the life cycle of plants.  At home learners will need their science supplies from the book in a bag pick up this week.

Language Arts:

Reading:      We will make predictions while we read.

Writing:       We will review our 4 types of writing (narrative, persuasive, expository, letters)

Phonics:      We will talk about the digraph /oi/.

Social Studies:   The learners will identify ways people make good choices in saving our earth.

Fun activities to do at home:

Have fun learning about coins while singing along to this song.

Practice counting to 120 by twos with your child.

READING  - Enjoy some extra time reading  on Bookflix, Epic, Learning A-Z, Book in a Bag, or check out some books from the TCE library.  Our librarian hands out library books on Wednesdays.

In the reading course of Schoology, you can find the kindergarten, first grade, and second grade snap word list.

Social Studies:  Have fun discussing ways your family reduces, reuses, and recycles  to help our environment!!!!

Virtual Learner Announcements
  • Starting next week PE will be moving their zoom time to every Wednesday during your child’s regular specials time. All sections will be zooming together and this schedule will continue through the end of the year.
  • Dream Box - Please make sure your child is on Dream Box at least 3 times a week for 15 minutes.  :-)
  • Our district uses a web-based platform called bulb.  Using bulb, your child can showcase their work and growth as a learner.  We will need everyone to download the bulb app from manger. Once the app is downloaded, please watch the video and follow the steps to log into your child's account and add a page to their digital portfolio. Please have this done by Monday, March 8th.   If you need help, please reach out to your child's math and science teacher.

Face to Face Learner Announcements
  • Please ask your child if they have working headphones.   Many learners have broken their headphones or the headphones do not fit them correctly.  We use these every day so it's good to invest in a good pair of headphones.  If your child needs a new pair, please send them to school.
  • Please make sure you put your child's fully charged Ipad and charger in their backpack each day.  The Ipad battery should be 100%.
  • We have library on Mondays.  Please make sure to send your library books back to school on Monday so your child can check out some new books

It's hard to believe that we are coming to the end of the year.  If you have any concerns about your child's academics and you would like to schedule a zoom conference to discuss next steps, please reach out to your teacher.
